AED-2150 series

Automated External Defibrillator AED-2150 series
Simple use:
This automated external defibrillator is ideal for emergency use and can be operated easily by lay people. The voice output, which was designed in line with international recommendations (ILCOR), guides the user safely and systematically through the resuscitation procedures. After the user has moved the push switch on the device to defibrillation for an adult or child, just three further steps are necessary while following the voice instructions:

Step 1: Switch device on
Step 2: Position shock electrodes
Step 3: Press shock button

As soon as a heart rhythm that is suitable for defibrillation has been detected the AED-2150 starts the automatic charging process and indicates when to press the shock button.

Biphasic defibrillation:
The AED-2150 provides defibrillation with the aid of a lower energy, biphasic impulse curve. It needs less energy than traditional monophasic defibrillation and therefore protects the heart muscle. Better results are achieved with the biphasic technology, protecting the patient from sudden cardiac arrest.

Since NIHON KOHDEN uses a particular T-circuit the ActiBiphasic-Technology that was specially developed by NIHON KOHDEN offers an improvement over most conventional biphasic circuit concepts. In traditional, biphasic circuits the shock impulse expands as soon as the transition resistance increases. This reduces the efficiency of the defibrillation. The NIHON KOHDEN T-circuit actively controls the shape of the curve in the second phase of the shock impulse and thus provides a constant impulse curve.

AED with memory function:
When using the AED-2150, data on resuscitation (ECG and event information) is collected and saved for 30 minutes. Therefore up to three applications can be documented and analyzed over a period of up to 90 minutes. In addition, the device's daily self-tests (31 entries), monthly self-tests (12 entries) and other tests (50 entries) can be saved and read for maintenance activities.

AED self-test:
Each day (at midday) the AED-2150 tests itself in order to monitor the functionality of the device, battery and electrodes. The test results can then be displayed in the form of a red/green status indicator (green = fully operational) that is clearly visible without needing to open the device.

Bluetooth interface:
The saved data and the test results can be transmitted wirelessly to a PC via a Bluetooth interface, where they can be conveniently displayed and analyzed using the AED transcription software.
